Help Mt Cheeseman Ski Club Kick Start Winter 2026

Castle Hill, Canterbury

After one of the lowest snow seasons in our history, Cheeseman needs your support to be ready for Winter 2026. Your donation will help us keep our ski area operating and sustain the year-round alpine experiences we provide for groups, schools and the wider community.

Mt Cheeseman Ski Club, like many other ski clubs, in the Craigieburn range faced an exceptionally challenging 2025 winter — we opened for just two days due to lack of snow. We love welcoming members, skiers, riders and the many groups who visit us throughout the year and bring their energy to the mountain.

As a small club-operated ski area, our fixed costs continue regardless of snowfall. Power, maintenance, insurance, equipment servicing and compliance requirements all need to be paid whether we open for 2 days or 62. After such a limited season, our reserves are extremely stretched.

But the reality is simple:

To be ready for Winter 2026, we need help now.

At 96 years old, Cheeseman is approaching its centenary. Your support today helps ensure we make it there — and that future generations can continue to enjoy everything this mountain offers: winter skiing, summer adventures, alpine learning, and the unique spirit of a community-run club field.

Whether you give $25 or $1000, every contribution truly matters.

Thank you for supporting Cheeseman.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
