“KENYA HUNGER CRISIS 2021-2022 EMERGENCY APPEAL. In Kenya an estimated 3.1 million people are currently in need of food assistance.” https://tinyurl.com/ycst3nxu
MY STORY: In early 2020, I met Oliver Juma, then 23, on Facebook. He was living in his subsistence farming village, Bilongo, Kenya. We developed a close friendship. I got to know him and his 5 siblings and mother intimately. I witnessed their everyday grind to survive since their father died in 2010 leaving them with no man to help farm.
In 2021 Oliver met his current fiancé, Deborah Ouma who came from a farming family of 7 in Homabay village, also lacking a father. They both moved to the big city of Nairobi for employment, sending money back to their families. I got to know Deborah well.
Throughout this time I gave them thousands of dollars when emergencies of food shortages and hospitalizations occurred. Now reaching my financial limit as the drought disaster worsened, I knew these two families were facing a basic survival challenge with no State help.
I am going public to help 14 persons survive this drought crisis and perhaps even thrive once we bring them the “Water of Life” to enable them to feed themselves.
Meet these 14 personally, help save their lives.
In USD, each of two families (X2)
1. $7,000usd to drill water well, install pump & tanks.
2. $3,000usd to supply electricity to run water pump, heat/light homes.
3. $5,000usd to repair old & build new housing.
31,500usd (5% added) = 45,500nzd
