Help fund Kinga's participation in the toughest adventure race, the Red Bull X-Alps!
Auckland
The Red Bull X-Alps it touted as the 'toughest adventure race in the world'.
Competitors from around the globe arrive in Austria for a grueling test of the body and mind. From Salzburg, they make their way only by foot and paraglider to Monaco, navigating over 1100km of treacherous alpine terrain. Often covering distances of 100km per day, sometimes more, athletes must combine skill and strategy, while overcoming injury and fatigue. Many will accept defeat and drop out before the end, but a select few will stop at nothing to reach the finish line.
Kinga Masztalerz has been selected to participate in this gruelling event. This is really special, one of only two women, out of a field of 32 athletes. It's a rarity that women are participating.
Kinga has the attributes and experience to make it to the end!
It's an expensive undertaking. Kinga and her supporter must be self sufficient during the race. Before the race, a lot of preparation and training is needed. All of which costs money.
And, unfortunately, there are no big prizes to be won at the race!
Kinga Masztalerz is a member of the Auckland Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club
It's really very special that Kinga is participating in the Red Bull X-Alps 2019, and the Club wishes to help raise funds for this event, and help promote the sport.
