The Otago Hockey Association is seeking support to help with the final stages of our important and exciting third turf project.
Otago
The Otago Hockey Association is in the final stages of realising its strategic goal of building a full size water turf at Kings High School in South Dunedin
This is an important project for the association and aligns with several key strategic goals
1. Growth of Hockey in Otago has been limited by our current facilities running at full capacity. The facility at Kings will give us the scope to grow the game and offer participation opportunities at more user friendly times.
2. By building a hockey facility in South Dunedin we will extend our footprint within Dunedin and be much more visible and easily accessible to the communities in the Southern suburbs of our city. This promotion of hockey and associated participation opportunities will support our growth goals.
3. A number of Hockey New Zealand tournaments require three turfs. The ability to bid for and hold these events will provide significant economic benefits to the association and Dunedin more generally. The hosting of these tournaments and events will further promote Hockey in these parts and further support growth goals.
In addition to the 1.9 Million raised from the DCC, community funding and from our project partners Kings High School we need to contribute $200,000. It is the goal of the board of Otago Hockey to do this with minimal impact on debt levels and operational budgets that determine the opportunities available to our community of over 3000 participants.
We are therefore asking for your support, at what ever level is possible in these challenging times to help us with the final stages of this important exciting project for the association.
We are very open to providing donors (business or personal) with appropriate recognition and acknowledgement at our current facility at Harbour Terrace and/or our new facility at Kings. Please contact Andy McLean on manager@oha.org.nz or 027 88 44 800 to discuss.
All funds will be used in the construction of a third turf for the association which will be built at Kings High School.
