Well we managed to get most of the way there before leaving Nepal last year. It was an intensive three weeks work, where we achieved a lot, however with some serious logistical and supply issues we didn't quite make it.

The roof is on, but the kitchen, wiring, lighing, plumbing, exterior plastering and windows still need to be done. Although we have let most of the materials on site for the interior works, installation work still needs to be funded along with the work to the exterior to make the building weather tight.

Your generous donations have got us this far however we are now on the final push for funds so that we can get this exciting project 100% complete.

  • New Kitchen Building Project

      14 March 2017

We're almost set. A team of dedicated guys are heading off on 7 April to head back to Nepal to undertake a building project in the KariKhola region.

We will be building a new communal kitchen building at the Monastery in KariKhola. We will be trying to teach the local people a new method of building that will withstand the effects of an earthquake. Primarily the building will be constructed of gabion baskets, rather than just stacking cut blocks like they currently do.

The funds raised by our Givealittle page is funding the rebuild, along with other donations we have received from the likes of the Himilayan Trust. We also have some local sponsors like Topmaq who have given us tools to assist in the building works.

We will provide some further updates in the coming weeks before we leave.
