Knocking Nicols Off!

$8,625 of $15,000 goal
Given by 79 generous donors in 2 years

Please donate if you want to see Dunedin's iconic Nicols Creek Switchback Track completed and gravelled.

Otago

The end is in sight! After 10+ years of hard work by Hamish Seaton and dedicated bands of volunteer (fuelled by Pam's muffins); Nicols Creek Switchback track is nearing completion.

When the track is finished, several adventurous loop circuits will be available for all users to enjoy; extending north and south along the historical Swampy Ridge Track.

Make no mistake, this is a challenging project made more difficult by the lack of road access. We have exhausted our range in moving gravel over land and now, to finish the project, we must continue applying gravel with a helicopter. This is a hugely expensive commitment for a small volunteer organisation like ours.

We are seeking financial help to make the connection. Please understand, we cannot realise this vision without the support and generosity of people like you!

About us

MBO was founded in 1989. The club's objectives are ‘to be a pro-active advocate for issues affecting recreational and competitive mountain bikers in Otago, in particular to work for improved land and trail access for mountain biking'.

Use of funds

Donations will be used to fund heli-gravelling of the new top section of hand-cut track.

We thank you for your generous support – we can’t wait to see you up there; it’s going to be great!
