Koha for Jeremy's Whānau - From MBIE, With Aroha

$4,757 donated
Given by 128 generous donors in 9 days

A heartfelt fundraiser created by Jeremy's MBIE colleagues to honour his memory and support his whānau with aroha.

Auckland

Jeremy Arendse was more than a field engineer, he was the quiet constant behind so many of our days, always ready to lend a hand with patience, humility, and a warm smile.

From resolving tech issues to lightening the mood with classic banter (especially over the All Blacks vs Springboks rivalry), Jeremy brought heart and humour wherever he went. His kindness, calm, and wit made a lasting impression on all of us.

This page has been created by Jeremy's MBIE colleagues to honour his memory and offer aroha to his whānau. There's no set goal. Every koha, no matter the size, is received with deep appreciation and love.

A special message from Jeremy's whanau  8 August 2025

I would love to express thanks to the MBIE family and everyone that donated!

During this incredibly difficult time, the outpouring of love and support we have received has been truly overwhelming. Your heartfelt messages, kind words, and generous donations have brought comfort to our family in ways that words can hardly express.

It is clear that my dad had a strong and loving community behind him. He was deeply loved, and your kindness shows just how many lives he touched.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such compassion and care.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The family of Jeremy Arendse

“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy” - Inuit proverb To Jeremy’s family your Husband/Dad was the coolest. Super helpful and very much a treasured member of our Border team. No IT issue was too big, confusing or small.
