Pakūranga, Tāmaki Makaurau
New Zealand’s Koru Racing made an impressive debut at the STEM Racing Australia National Finals, setting the fastest lap of the competition and outperforming established Australian teams. STEM Racing is a global competition where 1.2 million students, design, manufacture, and race miniature CO2-powered F1 cars made from balsa wood and 3D printed parts.
Koru Racing – from Saint Kentigern College in Auckland – competed in the Australian National Finals in Melbourne over King’s Birthday weekend. Despite having only two months’ notice, the team set a lap time on day one which remained unbeaten through the rest of the competition: even surpassing teams with podium placement at the 2024 World Finals in Saudi Arabia.
Because of their performance, Koru Racing has secured a place at the 2025 World Finals set for September in Singapore. To attend and represent New Zealand, Koru Racing need sponsorship. If you are interested in supporting Koru Racing and receiving a range of sponsorship perks, please consider donating, or feel free to enquire at reilly@koruracing.nz.
