Kristin's fundraising page is now closed, but we just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Kristin and everyone who supported her campaign. An incredible $7975 was raised, which will go a long way for NECNZ and the work we do for our NET Cancer community.

    Warmest wishes to you all,

    The NECNZ Team x

  • THANK YOU!!

    Hi everyone,

I am absolutely blown away with all the support and donations! To think my first target was only $2000 and to nearly quadruple it!

The lead up to race day was mentally tough, and the ‘why’ I was competing was weighing heavily on me. However with some excellent advice from my coaches and some awesome people supporting me, race day could not have gone better.

Thank you again for supporting Neuroendocrine Cancer NZ and hopefully making a difference for their community.

    Lots of love,

    Kristin

      28 February 2024

The support everyone has shown Kristin has been amazing and her $6k goal has already been reached. At the request of Kristin, the goalposts have been moved (again) for her race this weekend. We're all right behind you, Kristin!

  • 6 week training block - DONE!

      20 December 2023

    Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the support so far. All the messages and donations have been incredible.

I’m settling into the weekly training routine and the adrenaline is starting to wear off from the excitement of signing up. Despite the end of year fatigue creeping in, I’m focusing on each training day at a time and plodding on.

Here’s a wee update on the three disciplines after nearly finishing my first 6 week training block:

Swim - Given I have a strong swimming background I have been hugely humbled returning to the pool after a four year hiatus. I can’t say I’ve missed staring at that black line at the bottom of the pool but each session is starting to feel more like that familiar glide through the water from the past. Despite the early starts to swim the body is always grateful afterwards.

Bike - For someone is very much a recreational trail rider the cycling is my weakest discipline. But non the less I’m putting in the time and getting very familiar with rolling the streets of Kapiti. Tips for sorting out a sore neck and bum are welcome.

Run - The part I enjoy most and always happy to head out for a plod. Definitely more practice is needed running off the bike and on sore legs.

Stay tuned for the next update 🫶

    Thanks,

    Kristin
