Dear supporters of the beautiful Kuila Tuivoavoa and her family, we are so sorry to share that Kuila passed away on 2nd August 2018. Her life was celebrated yesterday, 6th August, in a large and moving service attended by Kuila's friends and family from all over New Zealand and Australia.

Kuila's mother, Ruve Petersen wrote on Facebook: "It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the peaceful passing of our dear girl Kuila Tuivoavoa. A loving daughter, caring sister and a friend to many. She was strong right through to the end, physically and spiritually. Her faith had no boundaries. We would like to thank all her friends and family who supported her during this fight."

Thank you all again for your love and support. Vinaka vinaka vaka levu.

Firstly thank you all so much for your support. It has meant a lot to Kuila and her family. The good news is that Kuila has now been in remission from leukaemia for a week. However she is still in Auckland Hospital because the chemotherapy has resulted in short term memory loss, involuntary twitches and severe anxiety attacks. So the medical team are working with Kuila and her family to run tests and treat these issues. We all hope that Kuila will soon be well enough to begin her Vitamin C treatment, and continue on her road to recovery. Vinaka vinaka vaka levu.
