CARRIAGES CAFE WIPED OUT BY FLOOD SEPT 2021
Wiped out & Devastated by a one-in-a-hundred-year flood in Kumeu, North-West Auckland NZ.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, our business has suffered HUGELY via no trading for the duration of 4 lockdowns in total, meaning, no income for a total of 21 weeks to date and, add to all this was the loss of goods, products & stocks totalling over $119,000.00 which is NOT covered by ANY insurance company because of a pandemic.
Furthermore, we've had NO aid/help from any banks, lending institutions or Government departments at all... & then a week ago (today), the great 1 in a hundred year flood wiped out our business including all our pets within. We don't have big pockets whatsoever but, we DO have big hearts as the people of this great town and village have come to know. Sadly, for us, our business had ONLY partial insurance which covered only stock and NOT plant, equipment and other IT related products. Adding to all this also, we wont be operating anytime soon because of the huge work now required to rebuild the entire complex & if we do, (fingers crossed) it will be either just before Christmas of this year or early January/February 2022
Use of funds
Huge clean up and replacements of a lot of equipment, ornaments & aged artifacts that were swept away or damaged by the great flood.

We’ve been without work, without a business and without a single cent from our insurance companies to date!!
