Kyu was diagnosed with ALS in February 2017. He has travelled to Korea with his family for treatment, however, this is not a cure.

We would appreciate ANY support to help Kyu and his young family through this unfortunate journey. I know there is a LOT of LOVE and SUPPORT in the world and am lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people that I know can help. Even a little will go a long way.
ALS or Motor neurone disease is a neurological condition that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells, called motor neurons. You may have heard about the “Ice Bucket Challenge” this was done to create awareness for ALS.
As the condition progresses, sufferers may be unable to walk, speak, use their arms and hands, or hold up their head. Life expectancy span is only 2-5 years after being diagnosed.
Kyu is a very dear friend of mine and I was sad beyond belief to hear that he was diagnosed with this disease. Kyu has come from a humble beginning as his parents immigrated to New Zealand with very little. Kyu has taken the same family values as his parents, hard work and passion to do better, to provide for his wife Karen and young child Alina. Unfortunately this disease has added financial pressure to his family while he is trying to fight this disease.
I’m Involved to help and support a dear friend of mine Kyu and his wife Karen, daughter Alina and family.
The treatment Kyu is undergoing in Korea is called Radicut which is for a 6 month period, this is to slow the disease down by up to 20%. Unfortunately the disease is currently progressing quickly and already Kyu has only limited use of his hands and requires the use of a wheelchair when leaving the house.
Any funds raised will go to Kyu and his family to either support Kyu with his treatment or for Karen (his Wife) or even Alina (his beautiful little girl) and their future.
