Alana is a loving mother and police officer who has been tragically diagnosed with breast cancer at just 28.
Hawke's Bay
Alana is a dedicated and hard-working Police Officer in the Hawkes Bay community, our loyal friend and loving partner.
At 28 years old, she has survived melanoma and has recently received devastating news, that she has breast cancer. She is now facing a full mastectomy and has a long road ahead with chemotherapy.
Alana has an eight year old son, who is in a local Hawkes Bay school. Her diagnosis means that she will have to travel in and out of Hawkes Bay for surgeries and chemotherapy treatments, so she will be away from her son a lot over the next few months.
The Hawkes Bay Police have been doing all they can to support Alana and her family through this really difficult time. We aim to work alongside them to help raise money for surgeries, treatments, travel costs, everyday living and we also hope to send Alana, her partner and her son on a well-deserved family holiday in the near future.
Her attitude is inspirational so we would like to give Alana some peace of mind over finances, as she does not have medical insurance. Allowing her to direct her focus onto the important things like getting well and being with her family.
Alana and her family have a tough road ahead of them so we ask for your help to support Alana and help her to kick cancer in the backside!
We are a group of friends who have surrounded Alana through her melanoma battle and now would like to support her through this next battle.
Cancer you were tough, but Alana was tougher! 30 January 2016

So on behalf of Alana and her family we would like to thank all of you who helped Alana through this journey, from those of you who donated, those of you that cooked for her, sent her encouraging messages, kept her company, those of you that fundraised for her, even shave their heads for her! Honestly the list goes on. It has been amazing. Totally blew Alana away to the extent everyone went to. So this is a MASSIVE thank you, to you all. There isn't enough words to express the gratitude we have from everyone's support. It's been incredible.
