In 2014 I lived in Malawi for eight months and taught at a rural village secondary school. Lameck was by far the most lovely and intelligent young person I met in Malawi (he was also my neighbour). His parents died when he was younger but Lameck was lucky enough to be brought up by relatives and excelled in his education, achieving above 90% in all of his end of secondary school examinations. These outstanding marks scored him a scholarship for the journalism degree in Blantyre beginning 30th of June 2014, however, he didn’t have enough money to afford accommodation and his relatives have run out of funds to continue supporting his education. Friends and family donated a very generous amount to get him a laptop and begin paying his accommodation. I have been paying $150 a month on average since March 2015 with fundraisers helping me out here and there. However, as a uni student myself it can be a bit of a struggle sometimes! If you could offer any donation at all I would be eternally grateful, and Lameck even more so.
