Give Lavenita a strong heart. Her heart represents our aroha. You can help with large medical and recovery costs for our student, Lavenita.
Otahuhu, Auckland
Lavenita has Rheumatic fever which has damaged her heart. Her heart is unable to pump as efficiently which results in Lavenita feeling dizzy, getting short of breath, experiencing periods of chest pain and has prevented her from doing any physical activity. Lavenita has recently had surgery which will strengthen her heart and will enable her to more fully participate in school and other activities. Funds raised will go towards the completion of the documentation and assessments needed to ensure Lavenita can receive fully funded health care pre and post her surgery, as well as support for the family while she is in hospital.
As a school we will also be hosting a skip-a-thon to raise money in term 3. We will ask for sponsorship on this page too. This will help with ongoing costs for Lavenita's recovery in the hope that soon she will be able to skip alongside her classmates safely.
St Joseph's is a Catholic School in Otahuhu.
Funds raised will go towards the completion of the documentation and assessments needed to ensure Lavenita can receive fully funded health care pre and post her surgery, as well as support for the family while she is in hospital and to get back to school. Some doctors bills have already been paid for by the school and funds raised will also be used for reimbursing the school.
