Beautiful Lenix faces major surgery and a long journey of recovery please help support him with travel, meals, clothing and care costs 💙
Glenfield, Auckland
Lenix is our much loved 12 year old son - full of joy, gentle, strong, kind-hearted. He's nonverbal and has special needs. He is the bravest boy I know. He communicates in his own wonderful way, and has faced so many obstacles - yet meets every one with courage, a smile, and a strength that amazes everyone. But now, he's stepping up to face his biggest challenge yet.
On October 20th, he undergoes bilateral femur VDRO surgery - a major, life-changing procedure to
help him move and be more comfortable. It's the first step on a long road to recovery. What follows is an extensive stay at Starship Hospital, then intensive in house rehabilitation at Wilson Home in Devonport.
Because Lenix is nonverbal he relies on me - his mum - to be his voice and his comfort, along with his siblings, through every step of his journey. I'll be right there beside him every single day - I'll be taking time away from everyday life to care for him fully. While our accommodation is covered, everyday costs still add up; petrol for appointments leading up to surgery, travel to and from the hospital, and ongoing transport for his continued rehabilitation once we are discharged. Along with support with meals, clothing for comfort, activities to keep him happy and engaged.
Every dollar raised goes straight to these essentials so I can focus entirely on being there for Lenix.
He's overcome so much already. With your kindness, we can help him through this too.
Thank-you for standing with our brave boy 💙
I am Lenix's devoted mum - his voice when he cannot speak, his comfort when things are hard, and his biggest advocate, walking every step of this journey with him and his siblings 💙
Petrol for pre surgery appointments, ongoing travel during rehabilitation from Wilson Home; meals; clothing for comfort while Lenix is in plaster and braces; activities to keep in engaged and happy; everyday costs while I take time away to care for him
