Leslie & his dog Moon need help

$5,555 of $6,000 goal
Given by 104 generous donors in 5 weeks

Let's Give-a-little support to Leslie in his journey of recovery. Help buy a road legal, dry Van for their home & also for work purposes.

Bay Of Plenty

Leslie & Moon live in their Van which has a few leaks. Specifically the rear windscreen has been broken & is covered with a tarp atm on rainy nights things still get very wet.

It isn't road legal as it requires many other repairs also, so it's really in dire need of replacement for something better, safer & road legal.

I understand it's so so tough atm with petrol etc. but every $ counts. It all does make a big difference.

The best option is to surrender his Wagon to wreckers for up to $700 & get a larger road legal Van that can be used both for living in, storing work equipment & getting to/from work.

Ridiculously WINZ would rather keep paying him the benefit than loan him $ - which he's able to pay back $150 a week & $300 when he's working. I'm sure they want people indebted & not free & on employment path.

Backstory, Leslie left his home town 9 months ago in order to get clean. To date, he has done exactly that. He has decided on a path to good physical, mental & spiritual health & actively stays away from any area or persons that are into illicit substances.

He is a well liked, helpful, humble, positive individual. He & Moon just need a hand up. He was turned down for a job lawnmowing etc as he didn't have space for tools and nor was the vehicle secure.

We have found a Van for him to buy for 5k that has a new WOF/ Rego till end of year, has roof racks, a tow ball, is semi S/C. It's just perfect for landscaping Gardens job & equipment that Leslie wants to be doing.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
