Jade’s heading to groom at Aachen for Team NZ — self-funded, all heart. Let’s back the one who always backs the horse. 💚🇳🇿
Waikato
My incredibly talented friend Jade Urbahn is about to embark on a dream opportunity — she’s been invited to groom for Monica Spencer and support Team New Zealand at the CHIO Aachen Nations Cup in Germany, one of the most prestigious and fiercely competitive events in the global equestrian world.
Behind every elite rider and top-performing horse is someone like Jade pouring in care, sweat, and soul dedicated to keeping the horse in top condition and feeling the best inside and out. From pre-dawn feeds to post-ride recovery, grooms are the steady hands and watchful eyes behind the scenes. Now, Jade will be in the heart of it all, backing the team and supporting the silver fern with pride on one of the world’s biggest stages.
But here’s the catch: she’s funding the entire trip herself! Not because she has to but because she believes in backing her rider, her team, and her country no matter what.
She hasn’t and wouldn't ask for help but this kind of selfless commitment, passion, and pride in representing her country deserves to be backed.
So we’re asking you — if you’ve ever known a groom, been part of this sport, or want to back a Kiwi giving it everything for her team, please chip in. Whether it’s the cost of a coffee or something toward her airfare, every bit helps.
Let’s rally behind Jade and show her that while she might be working behind the scenes — she’s never standing there alone 💚🇳🇿🐴
Jade means the world to me and has always been in my corner. If anyone deserves this, it's her!
The money donated will gratefully go towards travel expenses while over in Germany including flights from NZ to Germany. Every little bit helps! Any excess will be donated to the Riding for Development Programme in Taupo.
