Teau Aiturau, also known as Mr T of Mangere has had his bike stolen. Let's get him a new one for Christmas!
Auckland
If anyone knows how a bike can change your life, it’s Teau Aiturau, also known as Mr T... but unfortunately, his own beloved bike was recently stolen.
For years, Teau has been changing children’s lives one bike at a time in Māngere via his charitable trust, Time To Thrive – To Stay Alive, which aims to equip kids with bikes (and bike skills), and everything else they need to stay healthy. His ultimate goal: to make Māngere the bike capital of the Pacific!
Operating on a shoestring from his pop-up bike workshop in the carpark next to the Mangere Community Centre, Mr T hands out bikes to anyone in the neighbourhood who wants to ride. So now we want to give Teau a helping hand.
Teau's beloved bike which he depends on daily was recently stolen – and he needs a new one so he can keep up his business working with children on bikes, and be able to get around town.
Please consider making a donation this Christmas so we can buy Mr T a new bike from Evo Cycles, who have generously offered us a discounted price.
For more info on Teau, read Bike Auckland’s blog feature here: https://www.bikeauckland.org.nz/they-call-me-mr-t-bike-champ-teau-aiturau/
Teau runs his bike programmes out of the garage workshop at the Mangere Community House, 141 Robertson Rd, next to Centre Park, Mangere. Any additional assistance or donations of bikes, helmets, bike tools or gear to his charity Time To Thrive – To Stay Alive are greatly appreciated. Contact info@bikeauckland.org.nz for more info.
Bike Auckland is the non-profit organisation working for a better region for people on bikes.
Funds will be used to purchase Mr T a new bike and accessories (helmet and lock).
