Help my beautiful mum fight malignant peritoneal mesothelioma by raising funds towards her treatment and giving her hope.
Auckland
I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but when it comes to someone you love, you do everything you can to help them.
My beautiful mum has recently been diagnosed with a rare and serious cancer called peritoneal mesothelioma. Mum is needing 9 cycles of Ipilimumab & Nivolumab. The financial cost is enormous, with approximately $96,057 needing to be paid out of pocket.
Hearing those words has been heartbreaking & trying to navigate what comes next has been incredibly overwhelming. We want nothing more than to see Mum have access to the best possible treatment options & the opportunity to spend as much precious time as possible with the people who love her.
In 2019, when I was just 28 years old, I faced my own breast cancer battle. During one of the most frightening and uncertain times of my life, Mum was there for me. She supported me & helped me & I will never forget that, and will always be grateful for everything she did for me. Now, years later mum is facing a cancer diagnosis of her own.
In 2023, Mum also experienced another devastating setback when her home was significantly damaged during the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods, forcing her to move out of her house. It was another incredibly difficult experience for her to navigate and another major disruption to her life.
Despite everything she has been through, she remains the caring, loving person she has always been, continuing to put others before herself.
Any donation would mean more than you know x
My mum is one of the most caring & loving people you could ever meet. She always puts others first & helps anyone in need. Now she is facing malignant peritoneal mesothelioma, & it's our turn to help her fight this devastating cancer and access treatment.
Funds got toward Ipilimumab and Nivolumab, and additional medical expenses associated with this journey, including appointments, scans, medications, travel, and ongoing care.
update ♥️ 6 November 2026
Thank you everyone who has donated, it means more than you know. Mum had her first round of treatment on Monday and is holding up well. Her next one will be in just under three weeks. The plan is to hopefully complete the first 3 rounds (there is 9 to do in total if all goes well) and then do some imaging to see if the treatment is slowing the spread of the cancer🤞🏼🤞🏼 thank you all again, look forward to updating you with some good news soon, Steph xx
