Bex is currently bed ridden much of her life and urgently needs surgery to remove a tumour on her adrenal gland.
Bay of Plenty
Bex has been debilitatingly sick for over two years now. She has never come right after getting sick with a virus and she had no choice but to quit her job.
In January, a tumour was found on her adrenal gland and it is wreaking havoc throughout her body (it has caused Cushings syndrome and probably Conns syndrome too). She needs the tumour removed along with her adrenal gland. Eleven months after finding the tumour, the hospital has just informed her that she won’t even get a consultation with the surgeon in the public hospital, for at least another five months let alone get the surgery in that time. They can’t even confirm if the tumour is cancerous or not until it is removed, which is very scary.
She has a wide range of symptoms but her extreme fatigue is the most debilitating and means spending much of her life in bed. Her eight year old boy is missing out on having a mum and her husband is working his butt off to keep the family afloat financially and around the home.
The quicker she receives surgery; the quicker she will have a chance to recover and for the family to get back on track with their lives.
After the tumour is removed; there will be a long and grueling recovery process as her remaining adrenal gland 'wakes up' and starts producing normal hormones again.
Thank you so much for your kindness.

$23k towards surgery to remove the tumour on Bex’s adrenal gland. If anything extra is raised it will go towards living costs during her recovery time.
Great news! 16 September 2021
