    Can you get to Kamo, Whangarei, this Saturday night?

    To support the crowdfunding campaign for 'Bloodalcohol' - the new horror story campaign - you're invited to sit by the fire and enjoy two spooky stories from the forthcoming book read by the author, Michael Botur.

    Last time people were thrilled by two tales, so let's do it again. It's really important I sing for my supper, proudly perform these stories - and I'm eager to learn which ones thrill the audience the most.

    The first Fireside Fundraiser Fiction Reading went well last Saturday night. I read the never-before-revealed stories ‘We Created a Country’ and ‘The Beast Released’ to a small group in my lounge at home and they were rapt. Thrilling stories, good wine, great discussion afterwards.

    Now I’m writing to invite you to book YOUR personal story reading.

    Let me explain in five punchy bullet points so you can get back to doomscrolling.

    I’m crowdfunding for Bloodalcohol, forthcoming collection which has a publishing offer, but I need to put in more money to make it perfect instead of just okay

    I am singing for my supper - that is, I am giving advance readings of the stories in the collection. That means you simply kick back and enjoy some really strong, thrilling stories read with dramatic effect by the author.

    How to get a ticket? Simply donate to the crowdfunding campaign and buy an advance book. That earns you a reading.

    Where will the performance take place? Anywhere you like. If you’re in Northland NZ, gather a few people and I’ll read to you at your house or a pub. If you’re in Auckland and can pull together a small crowd, I’ll come down for that. If you’re overseas, I’ll read to you over Zoom.
