A devastating fire engulfed the 50 year old Waiheke Pony Club last Saturday 10th Feb, please help us to repair and rebuild the club!
Waiheke Island, Auckland
On Saturday 10th February, Waiheke Island Pony Club was bathed in late evening sun as young riders tended to their ponies and began packing up their tack shed.
Moments later, smoke was identified and in an instant buckets were being filled, flames doused and ponies moved away from danger.
Within minutes a significant fire had taken hold as flames began to engulf the tack shed that contained personal riding equipment and feed, along with WIPC’s newly refurbished clubrooms.
After many hours of work, the Waiheke Volunteer Fire Brigade extinguished the blaze; devastatingly, the water and pump systems, tack shed, hay storage area and clubrooms were all severely damaged, unsafe and unusable.
With your help we aim to repair and rebuild our small but mighty club!
The club has some insurance but need help due the extent of the damage. Funds will be used for tank and pump systems, fencing, club house, tack shed and hay storage shed for members and the riding community to use.
