Liam is a dedicated runner who wants to be selected to represent New Zealand at the Olympics. He has progressed so well over the past 18 months where he is now nationally ranked for the 800m, 1000m, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m events in the under 20 grade. His best ranking is 5th over 5000m.
To be selected to represent New Zealand Liam had to be placed in the top 14 at the recent NZ Secondary Schools Champs of which he placed 14th - a very commendable effort.
At the recent North Island Champs Liam placed 3rd and was ahead of some of the athletes that placed higher than him at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Champs.
The cost of attending the champs in Australia has been estimated at $2200.00
