Thanks to Lioness photography for this photo of a similar lighting rig that King in the Ring bought down from Auckland.
It would be fantastic to have something like this up at all of our events - so jump in now and drop a few dollars, then share the campaign out and encourage others to do the same!
Sadly we've only made it to $500 of the $7500 target, so we're not going to have the truss up and running for the next 2 weekends of fight events.
What I have done is sent a request to GiveALittle to extend the campaign for 8 more weeks - so watch this space tomorrow!

I’ve had a few really good and important questions about the crowdfunding recently which are essentially “why are you crowdfunding this and who is benefiting”
So in a nutshell - NITROmedia, which is a company I own, will be using the funds raised to purchase a new lighting truss but we won't be using it to charge more.
Because we’re funding the purchase of the truss this way I want to assure you all that we won’t be ‘double dipping’ and charging promoters extra for it as well. Essentially it will be replacing and improving what we currently provide for lighting support. The current setup we have serves the purpose ok, but it's not the best we could be dong for you - being the audience, fighters, gyms and promoters.
Why the short campaign? We really want to get it up and running for IT Heavy Hitters in Wellington which is on the 5th of May.
So who benefits from this? NITRO who provide lighting, sound, video and photography to over a dozen events a year will own the truss, but - to be clear - we won’t be earning extra revenue from it at fight events. We will make the trussing available for hire to other groups such as film makers and bands over time of course, and this will go towards increasing the stock of lights and improving our overall equipment as we already do.
The benefits will be:
- A better show for the audience - with a goal of bringing more people to the shows
- A better experience for the fighters - more excited and engaged audience, more people attending and a more professional environment will give those getting in the ring a big boost.
- A better result for promoters - which means more support again for those who are training and getting in the ring
Anything we get over and above the lighting rig cost will go into more lights.
So please to join those who have already supported us, encourage a few others to do the same, and share the campaign on all your social media!

Hey everyone - we're off to a good start, but have a long way to go so now is a great time to jump on board and there are a few ways you can do that
The obvious first one is to click that donation button and put in a bit to get that number up.
The other thing we really need is getting the word out there - so jump on all your favourite social media and tell your friends, family and followers "I've just contributed to this awesome fundraiser, and it would be fantastic if you can too"
The third thing is sharing out these updates - I'm hoping to get one out every day or two, so share them to all your socials when they come out! pop back here every day or two check out the latest and tell everyone about it!
Finally - give-a-little has this awesome Fundraiser feature. Theres a big beautiful link to it on the bottom right of every givealittle page with the other share and social links. Use that and take your fundraising support into hyperdrive!

Hey there! Great to see you back again! I've gathered up some images of the truss components we're going to get, and another example of it put together (at a trade show but you can see the idea).
I can only add one image to this update so click on the Gallery link above to see more.
The assembled truss will be just under 5m tall using to box truss for the corners, and the latter truss spanning the sides.
So a big thanks to those who have started off the contributions... who's gonna be next!
