Lisa and Coley are a beautiful couple of 15 years who BOTH have Cancer
Bay of Plenty
Lisa has recently been diagnosed with a highly aggressive Bowel Cancer at only 40 years old. She has had surgery to remove some cancer in her bowel but it has spread to areas in her body where it is inoperable. She is currently working with health providers and her family on a plan, she has now started her Chemotherapy every 2 weeks for 6 months, Including a non-state funded clinical trial costing them over $18,000.
That is not all. Her partner of more than 15 years Coley also has cancer, Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia and had been working with his doctors to get his body strong enough to start his own course of chemotherapy. He was booked to start the day Lisa was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with bowel cancer. He immediately cancelled but knows he needs to start as soon as possible.
Lisa stopped working after her major surgery and has now started her chemotherapy but Coley continues to work. They both need to be at home to support each other therefore the aim of this Give-a-little page is to try and remove as much financial stress as possible for a couple that find themselves in a terrifying and surreal situation - both fighting deadly cancers at the same time. It has been created with Lisa and Coley’s approval by their brother in law and his sister.
We want them to be able to stop work and redirect their energy on fighting cancer, getting through the debilitating chemotherapy and supporting each other. All monies will be passed directly into Lisa and Coley’s joint account to help pay for their day to day costs and any expenses they will incur during their Chemotherapy and recuperation. It will also assist with additional costs in a clinical trial that Lisa will soon be embarking on.
Lisa and Coley are a beautiful couple who deserve all the support they can get. Giving a little is how we can help them with the fight of their lives.
