Little Frankie's leukemia journey

    It is with broken hearts that our beautiful baby girl Frankie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday 13th July, 2026.

    We will forever treasure the memories we all shared and the love she gave so many.

    Thank you to the many people that helped and loved Frankie through her journey.

    A memorial service to celebrate Frankie’s life will be held at Wai-mana, 92 Kippenberger Avenue, Rangiora, on July 26, at 3.00pm. In celebration of Frankie’s life, we request you wear bright colours.

    The service will also be live streamed.

    Fly high with the angels little one and go chasing the rainbows with your amazing smile that has brightened up so many lives, I'm sure she's already getting everyone in line up there for a dance and a sing song 🧡

  • Drive in a supercar

    What another awesome experience! After our first booking was cancelled due to a wet track we weren't sure if we would get the time to do this but V8 Supercars fit Oscar and Frankie in for some 'Hot laps' around the race track.

    Frankie was so excited getting her helmet and overalls on and meeting her driver.

    She did 2 very fast laps and was having a little chat all the way round, telling him to go faster too!

    A little video attached at the end of her race experience. We're so grateful she got to do one more "fast" experience ❤️

  • "Dance at a disco" 💃🏼

    And Frankie absolutely did dance!

    Her AMAZING school put on a morning disco and she totally got her boogie on and danced her little heart out.

    Glow sticks, balloons, bubbles, and music 🤩

    Frankie loves her dancing and singing everyday, even taking her karaoke machine on her last stay in hospital!

    She had such an amazing time with all her friends, such a special memory for so many🥰

  • Ferrari ride 🏎️

    Faster, faster is exactly what Miss Frankie was shouting through her huge smiles when she got a super fast ride in a Ferrari.

    One of our truly amazing friends pulled it together in a couple of days and Oscar and Frankie got to ride in a sports car! (Charlie didn't fancy it)

    Frankie was so happy to go off on her own and loved every minute of it.

    What an amazing experience, we are so grateful, huge thanks 🙏🏼

  • A couple more to go....

    The time has come that we have all been dreading, Frankies leukemia has returned.

    We are all extremely sad about this but take enormous gratitude in knowing we have done as much as we can together as a family for which we have all got amazing memories, videos and photographs ❤️

    Frankie has truly had a blast and we are blessed to have had this time.

    We're currently going day to day, the last week she has been on great form not needing any form of pain relief, attending school and going horse riding, but prior to that spent a couple of weeks in a lot of pain and discomfort.

    Who knows what tomorrow will bring but we're going to try and tick off a couple more items over the next few days that the kids have been really looking forward too.

    Can't wait to share these with you 🧡

    Once again a massive thanks to you all from the bottom of our hearts 💕

  • Glamping fun 🏕️

    We made it to "Sleep under the stars" 🤩

    Our cups are full after spending a lovely weekend at Forest Hillside Glamping down in Southland.

    It was magical, comfortable, peaceful and relaxing.

    Frankie, Oscar and Charlie all had quality time exploring, playing games, and toasting marshmallows. We had one night where the sky was partially clear and got to see some of the brightest stars.

    Thanks again for your help making yet more memories for our family ❤️

  • Quad biking

    Dad was pretty close by just in case as for those that know our Frankie, she's a little daredevil with completely no fear 🤩

  • Living her best life

    Just a little update to say Frankie is currently doing really well and absolutely living life to the fullest. She's happy, cheeky and extremely sassy and has had an awesome summer 🌞

    We have a few more bucket list memories planned over the next 6 weeks so looking forward to sharing 🥰

    Thanks so much for helping us to continue to do as much as we can as a family and make our beautiful memories 🫶🏼

  • We fed a giraffe 🦒

    We well and truly ticked off this item from our list "feed an animal at the zoo"!

    Late last week we spent an amazing day at Orana Wildlife Park near Christchurch on a private tour with our wonderful guide Cass.

    We got to learn about the animals, touch tortoise and bearded dragon (I think!), feed porcupine, meercats, ducks and the beautiful giraffes. It was absolutely awesome. All the kids came out of their comfort zone and Frankie was so confident feeding and giving them the "aaaaarrrrr" sound to tell them to open their mouths 😂

  • Dolphins

    A massive thanks to Akaroa Dolphins who took us on a wonderful cruise at the weekend. We saw penguins, seals and dolphins and all had such an amazing time. It was made an even more special memory as we had Frankies grandparents all the way from UK join us 🥰

  • North Island fun

    Frankie has had a busy week traveling up to Rotorua and doing some more fun experiences which we have so much enjoyed together.

    We've been rail cruising, gondola, luge, 4x4 buggy ride, on a duck tour (land & lake) and the boys had a go at zorbing!

    Frankie went in a police car 🚓

    Thanks to the awesome Rangiora Police we got a visit on New Years Day! Frankie and Oscar had a great time exploring the car and dressing up, even having a chance to do the lights and sirens!

    Our next few missions include fun in the North Island and also a dolphin cruise in Akaroa - exciting times as always 💜♥️

    What a way to spend out Sunday morning, and what a memory to have 🥰 the laughs and smiles wanting to go faster and more spins was something we will never forget. They all had such a blast I'm so so glad we had this on Frankie's list, it truly was just perfect 👌🏼

  • More fun was had 🤩

    On our days out we're not just stopping at the things on our list we're always on the look out and thinking "have we actually done this as a 5 before".

    More often we have done some things but always separately due to one parent and Frankie being unwell or in hospital or it was just to risky to mix with anyone out of our circle.

    The other day we enjoyed a beautiful ride around Christchurch altogether on the tram, and also a play at Timezone.

    Oscar has always been a firm Timezone fan but to see Charlie and Frankie enjoying the fun was lovely to cherish the smiles 😊

    On Christmas Day, Frankie got on her bike and rode like a pro, she's working really hard on pedaling and strengthening her little legs, so for now she's very much enjoying being pushed around 🥰

  • Kayaking fun 🛶

    We were due to do our kayaking experience in the beautiful Abel Tasman but the weather had other ideas!

    So instead we went into the beautiful city of Christchurch and enjoyed our first family kayak on the river avon.

    The kids absolutely loved it and Frankie sat still for most of it but I'm not going to lie if there were a few moments I thought we may be about to have a wee dip in the water! Thankfully it was a success and we all stayed dry 👌🏼

    Firstly another huge thanks for all the support recently we are so grateful 🙏🏼

    Here's an up to date list of things we're trying to do while Frankie is still on absolutely top form 💕

    We are always up for any ideas, activities, attractions, experiences and we'll just keep adding ☺️ we can do anything at all but we're also very conscious that Frankie has to be safe taking part 🩷

    Trying to experience kiwi kid life 💛

    She's a bit of an adrenaline girlie so watch this space.....

    Race in a sports car (obviously as a passenger!)

    Go jet boating

    Feed an animal at the zoo

    Kayaking - this is happening tomorrow in Abel Tasman 🛶

    Spend time in the kiwi bush - enjoyed an amazing stay in the bush in Takaka ✅

    Ride in a fire truck

    Ride in a police car

    Have a go on a quad bike

    Dig a hole at hot water beach

    Feed a lamb or calf milk - may be a bit late in the year but can adapt to any farm animal

    Overseas family holiday ✅ Gold Coast you were amazing

    Play in the ocean ✅ too many beaches to name, loved everyone

    Ride a rollercoaster ✅ We did a few at the Gold Coast theme parks

    Have a birthday party ✅ we celebrated turning 6 in style

    Family photos ✅ Absolutely loved these, we've booked more for January 📸

    Have a snow day, go on a toboggan ✅ Porters Ski field didn't disappoint

    Start school ✅ Loves it 😍

    Watch a sunrise as a family

    Catch a fish ✅ Yey caught 3 Salmon 🎣

    Ride a bike ✅

    Sleep under the stars

    Join a dance class

    Go down a water slide ✅ Will be doing more of these, she loves them.

    What a family event catching a fish was! Frankie, alongside her family and her auntie, uncle and cousins after a few attempts finally caught 3 beautiful salmon from Anatoki Salmon in Takaka. We managed to capture the final catch on video to share in our excitement 🥰

  • Santa Parade fun

    What a day we had making a very magical memory at the Santa Parade this year, with the help of Rangiora Promotions and Rangiora Toyota all 3 kids got to ride on the float with Santa!! 💫🤶🏼💫

    It was such a cool experience for young and old and so happy, we definitely cherish days like these 🩷

  • Some more memories made ❤️

    Im not able to post a photo as there are other kiddies in them but Frankie did her first sports day at school 🏃🏼‍♀️which she absolutely loved, hearing the children and parents cheering her on was really quiet emotional and ever so kind.

    She's been to a couple of A&P shows where she's obviously enjoyed all the rides and seeing the animals 🐄🐑🐓🐥

    And a few people have mentioned "why don't you put horse riding on your list", well we say she's already a pro!! As we are so lucky to have been attending RDA both in Blenheim and Rangiora on a weekly basis since she was little ,🐴

    Frankie also got given her amazing "Make a Wish" a couple of weeks ago, which is THE BEST playhouse. The kids are playing in it making awesome memories day & night, ever so grateful to everyone involved 🥰

    We are doing a really super special memory day tomorrow which we'll leave as a surprise for now but will definitely share early next week 🤩

  • Frankie turned 6!!

    Frankie had her first ever birthday party at the weekend - (due to covid and sickness it hasn't been possible before) And what an awesome few hours it was 🥳🥳 She was up and down the inflatable course and slide, eating everything on offer, colouring pictures, had a beautiful rainbow face painted, grabbed heaps of lollies in the scramble and of course enjoyed cake!

    She had an absolute blast with all her friends, big and small!! Who managed to come and celebrate. We are truly blessed and thankful for helping us make this happen ❤️

  • In love with Queenstown ❤️

    We have been so so lucky with the generosity of you amazing people and also Child Cancer that we have made another holiday full of absolutely amazing memories for all of us to cherish. We're part way through a week down in beautiful Queenstown and will post a proper update of everything we managed to do later but for today we'd love to share our dare devil kiddies all enjoying the luge, all wanting more (even after 11 rides between them!) and all speed demons. They we're all so awesome and we are so so grateful for this amazing experience together, once again a massive thanks 💖

    A huge thank you, we've made it on our first overseas trip as a family of 5 ❤️

    The Gold Coast in Oz is giving us plenty to do with a few things from Frankie's memories list getting ticked off here. The first has been 'Ride a rollercoaster' and Frankie and her siblings absolutely loved it. Frankie is known for her beautiful big smiles and this picture captured it perfectly 😍
