Please help raise $2,000 for Little Polly....
Nelson / Tasman
Meet the beautiful Little Polly......who was seen for free on Facebook by members of the community.
We are so grateful this little girl ended up in the right hands because when she went to the vets today to be examined she had to have an x-ray on her front leg as she was noticed to be limping.
The vet said that the poor wee girl suffered suspected trauma to the right foreleg. This has resulted in both distal growth plates in the right carpus to close prematurely.
Basically something/someone has stood on/ dropped Polly on the leg and damaged her wrist. The bones on that leg are already a couple of cm shorter than the other side. The vet did a conscious X-rays so they couldn’t get a lateral view of the leg.
It could be that it is just the radius not the ulna affected which would explain the bowing of the leg, so surgery is an option if it is only the radius thats affected then cutting this bone to release the tension and let the other bone grow normally.
Poor Little Polly is only around 9 weeks old and has been through so much in such a short time.
The vet said that the surgery will be around $2,000. So we really, really need to raise this money so Little Polly can have the surgery in 4-5 weeks time. It's best done when she is young and her bones are growing. The vets will sedate Polly and an other x-ray will be taken to examine the leg again before surgery.
Please, please donate, every little helps!
Thank you all so much :)
