Liza was sent to hospital with a suspected sinus infection only to be diagnosed a few hours later with a Grade 4 malignant brain cancer.

Any cancer diagnosis is life changing but this one is particularly challenging.
The prognosis given by the doctors was 3 months survival without treatment and up to 15 months with treatment. But Liza’s family and friends are not about to accept this. Having undertaken hundreds of hours of research they have uncovered ‘hope’. Hope from hundreds of recent research studies that have unearthed a far greater survival rate and even possible remission by embracing natural and alternative therapies. But it’s going to be a fight that will take all of Liza’s determination and courage … and some help from friends and acquaintances to finance these therapies
Treating brain cancer is a very different process than treating cancer in any other part of the body because of the blood- brain barrier, which stops pathogens and molecules from passing from the blood into the brain. Whilst this is key to keeping the brain safe it also makes it hard to get drugs like chemotherapy in. There’s also the challenge that the brain tumour is a mix of cells so when you kill some the residual cells can take hold again and regrow. For this reason conventional treatments have a poor end result .
But if anyone’s prepared for this fight … Liza is. After years of rehabbing and rejuvenating many tired and broken racehorses into horses who have a will to win again – this time the fight’s for her.
To start this process Liza needs to be able to fund private MRI’s to first form a baseline for the size of her rapidly growing tumour and secondly monitor whether we’re spending donated money wisely. And no - without private insurance you don’t get this service. You actually have to have blind faith that conventional treatment is working even though we know the hugely limiting effect of these on this monster disease.
Having already had 3 brain surgeries in the last six weeks Liza starts conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy on the 23rd November. Concurrently with this, Liza is taking advice on new immunotherapy which harnesses the body’s own immune defences to fight these rogue cells but it is likely that she will have to travel overseas to access this.
So in the meantime Liza is taking heed of the volumes of recent research that highlights how natural alternative therapies can help target these cancer cells. She is currently on an almost hourly intake of therapies including
Vitamin C
High potency curcumin / tumeric
Ruta 6
Calcarea phosphorica
Salvesterol
Boswellia
Melatonin
High dose vitamin D
Fish oil
Milk thistle
Berberine
Mushroom extract
Garlic
Cannaboid oil – being sought through an application to the National Health Board – has huge support as not just palliative but highly detrimental to brain cancer cells. Almost always now provided but at a huge cost.
As family and friends we implore you to help give Liza a fighting chance to combat this brutal condition. We will use your funds to continue to explore all and any new information that we are able to access.
These supplements have been identified as either reducing inflammation (which is the base cause of cancer) or helping treatments to target the cancer cells and protect normal cells.
This protocol comes with a cost of approx $2,500 month but the research categorically supports their ability to both extend and improve the quality of life.
Update for Liza 12 December 2017
We wanted to take this opportunity before Christmas to thank everyone who has offered their extremely generous love and support thus far.
Liza is over half way through her conventional treatment and is handling it well. As expected, she takes each day as it comes and is adjusting to finding a balance between doing the things she loves and acknowledging when she needs a quiet day.
Thank you all for your generosity and compassion as she continues to be brave in her journey.
We appreciate your ongoing support.
