Lost Everything in Napier Floods

$7,208 donated
Given by 82 generous donors in 4 weeks

Please help Wendy, IB, Sharleen, Orin & Wren find a home, and buy essential items after loosing everything in the Meeanee/Napier floods.

Meeanee, Napier

My step-father, Ian (known as IB), mother Wendy, big sister Sharleen, and two nephews Orin (12) and Wren (10) have lost their home, belongings, and everything they owned due to severe flooding in the recent cyclone Gabrielle storms in Meeanee/Napier.

Within 5minutes the water was up to my mother’s chest. Thanks to the fire brigade they are all safe and alive. IB was able to alert the neighbours, who quickly got their children and themselves out of harms way. Mum and IB are known in the community for helping others.

It is a devastating blow to or family having also lost a business during COVID times. We are humbled by the kindness and generosity of others. Funds will go towards essentials needed now, rebuilding a home and replacing belongings.

My mother only had her tiny home & vehicle insured. No contents. My sister does have contents and vehicle. However, who knows how long insurance will take to payout, and it will not cover the costs. They had $20-30,000 alone in tools that were not insured sadly.

One Day To Go!  16 March 2023

Much grattitude to everyone who has so generously donated to help my family to recover from the terrible natural disaster on Tuesday 14th February 2023.

We have one day to go, so if you would like to share our page with a friend, whanau or colleague, today is your day.

My sister is going to save her share until she has accomodation to move into. One month later and the property is still a boggy, smelly, muddy mess! My mother use to host Weddings on this land. Heartbreaking stuff 💔

Thanks again 🙏
