  • A long overdue update!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since I posted an update, things have been a bit hectic! It's been a crazy year all in all, the fantastic news of a baby on the way drastically altered my challenges and fundraising plans for 2017. However my brother and his friends stepped up and ran in Queenstown Marathon and raised $780!!

So despite me not doing my intended challenges in 2017, my fundraising has still got off to an amazing start thanks to the support and kindness of family, friends, colleagues, businesses and strangers!

Our beautiful baby boy arrived in January this year and fills our hearts with love and happiness. He keeps me very busy! However I have still found time to present my story, and the benefits of complementary therapy during and after cancer treatment to other patients at the Cancer Society. I am also slowly getting back in to running and have plans in place for my marathon challenge. Ideas are also in the making for my other challenges as I would still like to raise further funds to help as many people as i can on their treatment journey ❤

  • Some News and thank yous!

On the 18th November I should have been running my first ever marathon to raise funds to support others beyond their cancer treatment. However as I am now 30 weeks pregnant running a marathon is no longer on the agenda for this year! (It will be back on the agenda next year!) Therefore my awesome brother and his awesome friend have picked up the fundraising baton on my behalf. They are not runners but will be completing the 10k to show their support for me and my fundraising. Thanks guys, you are awesome! Big thank you to friends and colleagues of Matt & Stu who have already donated to this page. Giving your support to them is also supporting me and my cause, for which I am very grateful. I would also like to say a big thank you to my friend Helen Viney, my marathon training partner who is continuing without me and fundraising too. 👍😀😘😘😘

  • 1st Challenge completed!

      22 June 2017

Hi everyone! Sorry i've been quiet on here! There was a flurry of activity in the build up to Christchurch half marathon and then it has calmed down!! First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to all those that have donated to my page so far! It has been an amazing start to my fundraising and I am very grateful. I completed Christchurch half marathon on 4th June. It was a tough day to be running as the weather conditions weren't good but I am very proud of what I achieved. Onwards and upwards from here!! I have to admit I haven't been doing as much running over the last couple of weeks, partly because I was so tired but also because winter has arrived!! Although I do not have immediate plans for another challenge (my next one is in November) because of the poor weather, be assured that plans are in process and I am always discussing possible fundraising ideas so please keep supporting me and watching this space for what is to come!! :-)

  • Good to go!

      18 May 2017

So my page is now up and running and I have received some donations already which is awesome!! Planning for my five challenges is in progress and I will keep posting updates as things are confirmed! As I have already mentioned, the first one of my five challenges is to run a marathon which is booked for November. However, that's not to say I won't be doing anything until then!! My training has already started and I will be running Christchurch half marathon on the 4th June along with some family and friends. We are hoping to raise the profile of my project and really kickstart the fundraising! 😊
