Izzy was given a 20% 5 year survival rate 💛

Our beautiful 11 year old has been battling an aggressive rare form of soft tissue cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma it affects roughly 4 kids a year in New Zealand.

Izzy’s cancer is metastatic which means it’s travelled throughout her body and is being treated aggressively. This diagnosis has given Izzy a less than 20% chance of survival after 5yrs ♥️. Hearing that news broke our hearts, we couldn’t imagine life without our beautiful girl.

In the last 2 months Izzy has already had multiple hospital admissions, procedures and surgeries including countless rounds of chemo, MRI, PET-CT, ultrasounds, Chemo Port placement, blood transfusions, ovarian egg retrieval, multiple NG tubes inserted, X-rays and endless amounts of Iv lines.

This is our chance to help izzy dream big and achieve all things big and small, while she is still well enough ♥️

Despite her low prognosis Izzy is still a ray of light, she never fails to smile and put others first. She has such a big heart and we are so proud of her 💛

Life, Surgery & Diagnosis update   24 June 2024

A long overdue update on Isabelle’s journey ♥️.

So much has happened in the last 6 months for Isabelle.

She’s had a birthday and is now 11 🎉.

She got the chance to Make a wish ✨ with the make a wish foundation and that wish was a Pomeranian puppy!!! The wish fairies are super busy so she may have to wait till early next year.

Izzy lost her best friend(cat) Tom due to a dog coming onto our property while she was in hospital receiving chemo. She was absolutely devastated and heart broken. Sometimes a new love is the answer so we bought her a new fur baby for her birthday and her heart is so happy again.

Izzy is now up to her 8th big cycle of Chemotherapy and has had a few MRI and CT which show that that Izzy is responding well to the chemotherapy and the cancer is continuing to shrink in size.

She is scheduled to have surgery on the 2/07 to remove the tumour from the primary site and insert a drain. She will be admitted for a few nights and all going well she will go back in to surgery the following Monday to have the drain removed before having chemo. She will be on crutches for 4 weeks or so but she is still smiling with a positive mindset ☺️ she’s proud of herself for getting this far and so are we.
