Love and support for Sam & Aaron during Hugo’s fight against cancer, thank you to anyone able to donate and share x

Feb 2024 Sam & Aaron were blindsided by their baby boy Hugo’s cancer diagnosis just before he turned 10. Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma- the most difficult to treat was a cruel devastating blow.
Hugo endured gruelling treatment missing school & life in general due to effects on his body & immune system & the mental toll that came with it was heartbreaking.
The mental, physical & financial impact it had on Sam & Aaron was difficult to see. Juggling life in & out of hospital, unable to work consistently, maintaining some normality for Louis left no time or energy for self care. Fight or flight mode is not sustainable but as a parent you throw your everything at it.
Hugo finished intensive treatment in August, scans since were clear. He began maintenance oral chemo, put weight back on, his hair grew back & he got back into living life & his sparkle returned.
3 monthly scans meant ‘scanxiety’ for Sam & Aaron right before the scan, awaiting results & then 3 months spent thinking ‘what if’.
Last week it was no longer ‘what if’.
Returning in his lungs, ribs, spine & hips & the original tumour in his groin reactivating. Heartbroken & terrified doesn’t even come close.
Hugo knowing what’s ahead is positive but reality is once treatment starts it is going to hit him hard.
The impending impact of managing limited income & costs ahead is an unnecessary burden.
Financial support is not easy to ask, with love & gratitude on behalf of Sam & Aaron thank you to those able to donate or share x
I’m Sam’s sister and Hugo’s Aunty ❤️
Overall reducing the burden financially with daily living while Sam and Aaron are unable to work full time as well as extra travel back and forth to the hospital and possible unforeseen costs related to treatment.
