Lucy's Fund

Murray is and always has been our rock at Mangahao. Someone who is unfailing in their dedication to the job, whether it be responding to midnight machine call outs or fixing roadside culverts. He wears shorts 365 days a year and nothing is ever a problem for him, he just gets on with it.

Murray's partner of 40 years, Lucy, has terminal lung cancer. Those of you fortunate enough to have met Lucy, will remember her as a quiet, kind hearted soul, with a laugh that can fill a room.

The initial diagnosis gave Lucy between two months and two years. Scans since them show it is slow growing, albeit widespread, which also means it is inoperable. There is a drug therapy available, which has proven successful in extending lives in similiar cases. Unfortunately, while this drug is funded in Australia, in NZ it is not.

Lucy had her first treatment at a cost of $6,000.

At $6,000 every three weeks, any money raised could help fill the gap - Murray has always been our rock and now it's our chance to be his so please help out where you can.
