The beautiful Mahia Peninsula is located in the northern Hawke Bay with approximately 1400 permanent residents and a holiday population that can swell to up to 15 times that. Its isolation while part of its appeal also contributes to Mahia being overlooked within the funding of services and infrastructure. The Association represents all ratepayers whether they be permanent residents or bach owners.

The Mahia Peninsula Ratepayer Association was formed to provide a forum for the expression of ratepayer concerns, to stimulate public awareness of community issues and to encourage public participation in civic matters and provide a collective voice.
