Every kid deserves to play! and we need your help to make this happen!

Chertsey is a country town, small in size but not in heart! with an iconic NZ rural community construct – Chertsey School. As the centre of community, Chertsey School has shaped the lives of generations of rural “kiwi’s” and continues today to grow our children, our taonga, our future.
We have a number of children with unique social, emotional, physical and learning needs and we want to create a safe, fun playground that children with all abilities can enjoy. We would love a modern, responsive playground that generations of Chertsey Champs can enjoy!
This playground is the creation of a space that builds confidence, friendships and skills. It enables equity, responsiveness and inclusiveness. It breaks down barriers and allows our children to take the compassion and caring they learn in the classroom beyond the walls and out in to the playground and beyond.
About us
Chertsey School is a small country school in heart of rural mid-Canterbury. We have been the school for generations of rural New Zealanders and are proud of our children, whanau and staff past and present. We currently have 42 students.
Use of funds
We need a new playground that is safe, modern, accessible and inclusive. It needs to meet the sensory and learning needs of our children, and allow wheelchair access. Money raised will be used directly to fund the new equipment.

Lets make a play a reality! Every child regardless of their situation, deserves the opportunity to play in a playground where they can have fun, be safe and learn through playing. We need your help to make that happen especially for our children who face extraordinary challenges every day.
