Mana College’s Europe trip

20 students from Mana College in Porirua are travelling to Europe next year to learn about the culture and history of the German Language.

It’s their actions that speak even louder as they have proven from the very beginning why they were selected and how determined they are to make this happen.

All students attend fundraising events as well as have individual target funds to cover their flights. Some whānau have set up an automatic payment to meet this cost, and many students are completing odd jobs in the community.

Whānau can see the collective nature of support the students provide each other for a common goal. These are the people they will be spending 16 days with as they travel to:

Frankfurt, visiting Cologne, Paris,

Kopenhagen, Amsterdam & Amrum.

Amrum is a small German island in the North Sea and they will be staying there in pairs with host families and applying language skills.

So far, students, teachers, and whānau have raised around $72,000 through raffles, sausage sizzles, quiz night, stadium cleans, hāngi, and curry lunches with upcoming events such as disco and comedy night.

But there's a long journey ahead and they need as much help as possible. Any support is appreciated whether it is monetary, sharing the link, sponsorship, or donations for fundraising events.
