Help Manaswini meet her parents

  • Farewell Manaswini

      22 November 2017

    Dear friends

This is to inform you all of the sad demise of Manaswini on Sunday evening. She was a fighter and fought her cancer right till the end. She left behind her loving husband, JK, and their beautiful son (who is still under observation due to his premature birth). Her parents, JK and their son were by her side in the final hours.

JK and Manaswini’s family cannot thank you all enough for the financial support to help them through this tough time and for Manaswini to be able to spend the final months of her life with her parents and sister.

The funeral will be held in India and they all fly out by the end of the week. The family have organised a service for anybody who would like to pay their final respects. You can join the family in 11 Bolderwood Place, Wiri, Auckland from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. on the 23rd of November.

Please do keep JK and Manaswini's family in your thoughts and prayers to give them courage through this difficult time. Thank you once again for all the support.

    Sincerely

    Hema Ramesh

  • Manaswini's health update

      18 October 2017

    Hi everyone,

I had been to visit Manaswini yesterday. As per the plan she delivered a baby boy on the 11th of October through C -section. The baby is in the incubator under observation. According to the medical staff baby seems to be doing fine at the moment. Manaswini's health didn't seem very good. She hasn't been able to eat or drink post operation and looked very weak but positive. She is glad to have her family around her.

Let's keep praying for her and the baby.

    Thanks and regards

    Hema Ramesh

  • Manaswini's health and treatment progress

      23 September 2017

We had the opportunity to catch up with Manaswini once again. She will be undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy. She seemed to respond well to the first chemo and is really brave and positive. Her second treatment was yesterday, the 22nd of September. At the moment her pain is in control and she doesn’t feel any shortness of breath. As per the discussions by doctors, they would like to carry on with the chemo and wait till the baby reaches about 33-35 weeks to do a C-section. This is the tentative plan but it relies entirely on how Manaswini responds to each chemo session.

The family visas have been approved. Manaswini’s father and sister landed in New Zealand last night and JK’s parents will be flying on the 28th of September.

JK and Manaswini wanted to once again thank everyone for their generous contributions which helped greatly to sort out travel for the family to be with them so quickly. They are very grateful and sincerely appreciate it.

Thank you all and please do keep them in your prayers.

    Regards

    Hema

Message from JK on Manaswini's health:

'Manaswini's mutation is back and unfortunately she has to go with chemotherapy rather than pill treatment. She had her first chemo on Saturday,it might take a few days to note any side affects.According to doctors the baby is doing fine.No updates on her father's passport due to public holiday in India. Thanks to one and all."

Will keep udating on her health.

    thank you all.

What an overwhelming response in less than forty eight hours. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time out to help Manaswini and JK. Manaswini’s mother is by her side today and let’s keep our fingers crossed so her father and sister can make it here soon too
