We're out of funds this kitten season - can you please help us with a small donation and share this page to all your friends.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Manawatu Alley Cat Trust is a small, non-profit volunteer organisation that cares for stray and feral cats in the streets, alleyways and parks of Palmerston North.
There is so much work to be done out there. No one really gets to see the extent of undesexed stray and abandoned cats on the street, it is an invisible existence. The numbers are too high and we want them to drop.
Every cute tiny litter left unchecked will grow up feral, diseased and hungry, that is IF they survive. We are attempting to control the problem before it reaches overload- unfortunately we are at that point now.
We have good humane trappers that catch these stray and feral cats and kittens. If the cats are completely wild, they are desexed and released back into their territory, or if they are social to humans or can be socialised, cats and kittens are fostered out to homes until they find forever homes. We have a wee hospital like recovery room for the desexed TNR adults - a big thank you to a very generous and compassionate person who has set this up specially.
BUT, we cannot keep desexing and feeding the strays and supporting fosterers without money.
We need an injection of funds to help us keep going, one cat, one street at a time. This is our PLEA, every little helps.
Please donate and please share to raise funds and more importantly to raise awareness.
Your kind donations are used mostly to desex adult stray cats before they are released back to their territory or given to caring fosterers, to provide food and care to stray cats and kittens, and a small amount goes toward promotion of the organisation.
