Manu for Water Safety - every child deserves to be safe in the water.
Nationwide
Water Safety New Zealand is a proud partner of the Z Manu World Champs.
Some very awesome “Famous Faces” are taking the leap at the Grand Final to raise funds to support Water Safety New Zealand to provide Water Skills for Life lessons for kids across Aotearoa. For every meter reached by splash - their sponsor will make a contribution to support Water Skills for Life.
New Zealand is a water nation - we want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to enjoy the water safely. That’s what the Z Manu World Champs is all about! So, if you are in a position to support and amplify the efforts of our Famous Faces - please make a donation here.
Thanks to our Famous Faces - Piri Weepu, Peter Gordon, Hon Mark Mitchell, Charlie Pomee, K'Lee, Azura Lane, Cameron Leslie, “The Warrior” Rongo Keene, JManGo and Bruce Hopkins. We’ll be cheering for you!
Did you know? More than 130,000 Kiwi kids have never had access to water safety education. 7 out of 10 New Zealand children can’t float for more than 3 minutes - and, around half of New Zealand’s school children miss out on opportunities for water survival education.
The need is highest schools where families can’t afford private lessons, and schools can’t afford to subsidise them.
$70 per child is the average cost of either eight in-pool lessons or beach/river water safety experiences
Every dollar raised through this page will extend the capacity of Water Safety NZ’s Water Skills of Life education programme.
Every dollar raised will be used to fund in-pool lessons, or beach, or river water safety experiences for school children in New Zealand’s most vulnerable communities.
