Manukau family in need of support

Kia ora,

I am making this appeal on behalf of my friend Pushpa and her two children, aged 9 and 18 months.

I met Pushpa about two years ago under very tragic circumstances. She lost her husband to cancer barely a month after her son was born. She has no other whānau in New Zealand. Bringing up two children on her own is a struggle.

Her application for a resident visa has been in process since June 2022. Currently on a work visa, she is not entitled to any benefits, despite working and paying taxes. Due to the increase in the cost of living, daycare and rent, she struggles to pay her bills. She now works seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays, in order to earn extra money.

I am extremely concerned about her physical, mental and emotional well-being, and also for her children. They have no one but her. I have set up this page in the hopes of helping ease her financial burdens and the ongoing stress she faces.
