Hi Ruby have found info online re: Maria’s predicament & I see the Embassy & Foreign affairs are involved. If you took offence to my asking about the above please don’t I meant no insult. I’m in total shock at how unfairly Maria is being treated & want to help as much as I can.

Hi Ruby, Maria & I we’re good friends at Queen Vic so naturally I’m absolutely horrified to hear of what’s happened & is happening to her in that dreadful country. Is the NZ Embassy/Foreign Affairs involved? If you don’t mind could you please keep me updated on any progress please. Nga mihi

Kia Ora petal. Thank you for your concern. We have sought the assistance of the NZ embassy on several occasions. They reiterate that their powers are limited to providing contacts for legal counsel and providing assistance to assess medical health. They have assisted with both. Despite pleas for further assistance they are bound by the laws of the UAE and the the parameters of the agreements between our countries that oppose interfering in the way that they enforce their laws.
