    to me

    Hi Roz,

Mark is good now! He has just waken up at 11am! Now I give him a small bowl of muesli with grapes! He told me he only felt dizzy and headache 1,2 times/ day! Not often! Every afternoon I try to take him outside, walk for bit, hopefully this exercise makes him better and better!

Ho Chi Minh City is still lockdown 1 more week! Not much things can do at home, I clean up the house to make sure no place for Virus ☺️

Thanks for all big helps from you and generous donors

    Love

    Ruby

Gidday Mark - looking better - and glad to hear Ruby's update on your progress

i guess it may be some time - long enough for you to heal - that the CV is over and travel easier - tho' potentially more expensive - it will be good to see you again when you make the trip to establish pension back here. are you thinking head to Nelson?

Thank God for good care in Ruby

      love Craig and Raewyn

  • Mark has had your first payment

      8 April 2020

I have sent and they have received NZ$2,300 which will pay their 15million dong hospital debt and some rent.

"We have reached the total asked for and you have continued to give. This may help pay for a ticket home and a week or 2 rent here to get him settled so he can organise the pension. Vietnam has no welfare system and NZ needs him to be here for a period of time before he qualifies for the pension." He didn't have to have the surgery so your money has been able to make the move to save his future possible.

Mark is back at his apartment with Ruby and doing well. He is taking medication which is keeping him asleep most of the time. Has another 3 days of that I think. Ruby says he is eating a little more and can get up for a wash etc. They did not have to operate in the end and the last MRI showed the bleed is all but stopped. I have just realised I can do this update so I'm sorry I haven't done it sooner for you. I will certainly let you know when Ruby next updates me.

This is the last update from Ruby

    to me

"Most of medicine makes Mark sleep all day! He only feels a little bit dizzy and headache ( 3,4 times/day, not really sore)

This morning he can eat 5 spoons of mueslix and some grapes! I don’t let him move much, except go to toilet!

Now Saigon is lockdown in 2 weeks! No taxi or busses, I wonder how we can go back hospital for checking again on this Saturday! If we go by motorbike, it’s quite dangerous for Mark! I’m not sure he can sit stably on motorbike!

    Love,

    Ruby"

Since Ruby has found a friend who took them to hospital and he had his MRI

The image below is one of the receipts Ruby has shared. She is showing me all of these so I know what exactly what she has to pay back.
