Masks for Tauranga is a Not-for-Profit business, responding to the immediate need for effective personal protection masks to protect against Covid-19

Our goal is simple: to supply protective masks for Essential Service workers here in Tauranga.

Unique problems require unique solutions.

We are all in this together, and eradicating Covid-19 from our shores requires a team effort from all New Zealanders. Masks for Tauranga enables those in the community with appropriate skills and equipment, to be able to provide practical help in this time of need.

We are not ‘Pandemic Profiteers’, we do this at cost, using a team of local volunteers, who generously donate their time - and their sewing machines - working from their own homes.

We hope to raise funds to be able to cover the cost of materials and speed up the production process, in the effort to get as many essential service workers covered with a mask not only to help protect themselves, but the community.

The latest research is indicating that in addition to measures of distancing, washing hands, not touching the face and staying home - Mask wearing is another important tool in the effort to combat the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Tauranga has the highest population of over 70s in New Zealand.

We believe every possible effort should be made to protect them and the community.

Your donation would be grateful accepted, as currently our team is running out of using their own fabrics and resources to keep up with demand. Where possible we are using local businesses and suppliers for our materials.
