Rally for Matthew's recovery

  • The fight is over. Rest easy My Love.

      17 July 2026

Matthew's fight ended in the early hours of Friday 17th July 2026. He was taken back to ICU after contracting another infection in his CSF (brain fluid) he had a seizure which caused catastrophic brain pressure. Matthew would not be able to come back from this.

Matthew does not have life insurance to cover his send off. We would appreciate any contribution to help us with this next most difficult step in what is our new life without a husband and a father for Louie.

Matthew is back in the neurosurgery ward. He has had some frustrating setbacks with infection and EVD issues. We continue to travel every day to see Matthew and support his recovery, we are taking each day as it comes. Thank you everyone for your support and concern.

Matthew's recovery is progressing, with his voice getting stronger and his mobility. Matthew is struggling emotionally with what he is going through, but we are there by his side.

  • 6th February Update

      6 February 2026

Matthew has made some significant progress. He is no longer on the ventilator and is breathing with oxygen therapy. Matthew can move his legs and arms although this leaves him fatigued and he needs a lot of rest. We will be continuing our daily commute to be with him in his recovery, as long as we are able. What the future holds for our family is still uncertain. Thank you everyone for your donations and words of encouragement, words cannot express how grateful we are.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
