The Mauaoathon was so special so much love and so much support. We are so grateful to everyone who supported. It was way beyond what we thought possible. Around 90 people took part and the spirit and support was amazing. We cracked $11k which is such a blessing for the whanau.

We are truly humbled by all your support.

    #Mauaoathon4inno 8 May 2021 Final Details

Here is the key information for Saturday.

    1. Forecast is maybe some rain and regardless it is on and so please bring rain gear.

    2. You can go up as many times or around as you feel comfortable theres no pressure except for the challenge you want to give yourself.

    3. Base for the day is at the end of boardwalk at the end of motorcamp. Please don’t park in there unless you are staying there or authorised or Kaumatua as we must be respectful and are grateful that they have given us an area within the motorcamp.

    4. There will be a white-board at Base where you write your name and number of walks and we will give you something gold that denotes you are part of the group.

    5. Don’t worry if you haven’t registered please just turn up for as long as short as need me.

    6. The opening karakia will be at 6 am at the Base and the final karakia will take place at 5.30 pm at the base so we can all part of this. Charlie Rahiri will lead the karakia.

    7. Lunch will be provided and will be from 12 to 1 and everyone is encouraged to rest and be a part of this, so we can have whakawhanaungatanga.

    8. Base will have drinks and snacks for everyone to keep us nourished as well as a first aid kit and chairs etc to rest

    9. Those that cannot walk to the top are encouraged to walk around when they can.

    10. Volunteers are certainly welcome to look after Base and make smoothies etc

    11. Safety is paramount as we don’t want anyone to get hurt or over do it.

    12. Please be respectful of the facilites and others.

    13. Have fun and keep an eye on each other.

    14. Take photos up top and post to the Mauaoathon FB page or use #mauaoathon4Inno
