Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Merlot joined the Tauranga Riding for the Disabled team in April 2023 and is seeking annual sponsorship. Merlot has quickly become a valued member of our team and is currently riding in our therapy, education, recreation, sport and recreation programs. He shares a paddock with Santa who could be mistaken for his brother. They are gentle giants who spend their downtime relaxing in their paddock.
Any funds raised over and above the annual horse sponsorship of $2,500 will be gifted to the Ian Knott fund. The Ian Knott fund helps raise money for riders who need financial assistance and is managed by Tauranga Riding for the Disabled.
To offer equine therapy to people with disabilities and social challenges. We are a registered charity, operating our therapy programs 6 days a week.
The money raised will help cover some of the ongoing horse care and training costs, farrier work, bodywork, equine dentistry, feed, supplements, specialised ongoing training, chiropractor and other costs.
