Milly is a competitive young woman with a burning desire to become Taranaki's first female Paralympian.
Milly was diagnosed as a toddler with Marfan Syndrome ( a genetic condition that affects the connective tissue in the body). She has had numerous orthopaedic and cardiac surgeries over the last 16 years and as a result rarely participated in sport or recreation.
Milly is now on the high performance pathway and is competing on the world stage in para-athletics specialising is F57 seated discus and shotput.
Milly has multiple age group and open NZ records and is currently the top Open Woman F57 discus thrower in Oceania.
I am Rob Kirkwood. Milly's Dad and sole parent after Milly's beautiful Mum Paula died in 2019.
The funds will go towards Milly training and competing across NZ, Australia and on the world stage. The funds will cover travel expenses, accommodation, entry fees and equipment costs.
