We have created this Givealittle to fundraise a reward for information leading to the safe return of the missing Marokopa Family.
Marokopa, Waikato
Hello everyone. Today marks 10 months of the 3 young children being missing. Taken by their father.
We have worked closely alongside the Police throughout this investigation, and completely understand the complications it would create if they were to fund a reward.
Initially, we tried to raise the reward ourselves, between family and friends, but we are hoping by reaching out to you to be able to reach our goal sooner.
The money donated will go towards a reward for information leading to the safe return of the 3 children. Any remaining funds will be donated to parties that helped in the missing persons search last September, when the Father's truck was found abandoned in the surf of Kiritehere Beach. This could include - Waikato Police, Search and Rescue Staff, Waitomo LandSAR, Hamilton LandSAR, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Surf Life Saving New Zealand, ISO Limited, local Kiritihiri Iwi and Community
Any amount you are willing to donate is extremely appreciated (and unexpected). We just want our babies home.
Thank you so much for everyone's support and help so far.
I am the eldest sister of the missing children.
The money donated will go towards a reward for information leading to the safe return of the 3 children. Any remaining or unused donations will go towards those who helped with the search of the Family in September 2021.
Givealittle Update 27 April 2026
Kia Ora,
Whilst we have not given an update to this Givealittle until now, we have been working behind the scenes to distribute the funds raised, now that it is clear the reward will not be claimed.
Our whānau had hoped to make a koha to the Police Officer that had been injured during the events on September 8th 2025, but after discussions with New Zealand Police they said they “did not want to create a precedent for this to happen again” and could not accept the money for the Police Officer.
As per our Givealittle page, “any remaining funds will be donated to parties that helped in the missing persons search last September, when the Father's truck was found abandoned in the surf of Kiritehere Beach.” We will now be distributing the Givealittle funds to LandSAR, to show our whānau appreciation for the volunteer work LandSAR did during the September 2021 search and the continued help that they provide to people nationwide.
We would like to thank you all for your support with this Givealittle, and for your continued support for our whānau throughout this time.
Ngā mihi nui,
Storm
