Misty's (25 yr old mother of 4) fight against aggressive cancer
Port Whangārei, Whangārei
Misty went into hospital multiple times with severe back pain but was sent home without answers. On the 16/09/2024, Misty was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer that had already spread to her spine and lower leg limbs. Despite the diagnosis, Misty chose to undergo chemo. Unfortunately, she suffered reactions. After an initial scan came back clear, Misty tried to continue life as normal. However her headaches persisted she returned to the hospital twice only to be sent away and told they were migraines. After pushing for another scan, Misty and her family received heartbreaking news, cancer had spread to her brain on the 26/04/2025 she was rushed to Aklnd Hospital and is now on urgent radiation and may need brain surgery. Drs have given Misty only a few mths to live. This surgery is to help her spend her remaining time pain-free & comfortable.
Misty has always given to her family. Now it’s our turn to support her.
Misty is one of the most caring, selfless people you could ever meet. She is deeply devoted to her family and friends always putting the needs of others before her own. Misty lights up the room with her warmth, kindness, and her ability to connect people. When she was first diagnosed, her first instinct wasn’t to worry about herself, it was to comfort those around her, reassuring everyone that she would be okay and putting others at ease. Misty’s strength, generosity, and love for those around her are just a few of the reasons why she means so much to so many
